|Towpath Day on the Canal|
A VOYAGE OF 200 YEARS OF ERIE CANAL HISTORY
Presented by the Camillus Canal Society, this is a celebration of the Bicentennial of the Erie Canal that changed the face of our country. Towpath Day will take place on Saturday, August 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Erie Canal Park, 5750 Devoe Road.
The event features old fashioned crafts and demonstrations, vendors, entertainment, kid's stuff, great food and music. Boats will travel along the canal, stopping at a series of 10 tableaux depicting 200 years of canal history. The 7th annual Camillus Rotary “Muleskinner” 5K Run will begin at 9:00 a.m. (registration info at the Rotary Club's website) and there will be a Symphoria concert at 8:00 p.m followed by fireworks at the Aqueduct.
Admission and parking are free, with shuttle bus service beginning at 6:30 from the D.O.T. on Devoe Road and Reed Webster Park on Warners Road.
