VOTER REGISTRATION:

To vote in New York State, the following qualifications must be met:

  • be a U.S. citizen
  • be 18 years old by the date of the primary, general or other election
  • live at your present address at least 30 days before an election
  • not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction
  • not claim the right to vote elsewhere

Those that meet these qualifications may register to vote by mail or in person as follows:

  • Download a New York State Voter Registration Form
  • Have a New York State Voter Registration Form mailed to you by online request
  • Call 315-435-8683 to request a New York State Voter Registration Form be mailed to you
  • Pick up a New York State Voter Registration Form from the Town Clerk’s office
  • Register to vote in person at the Onondaga County Board of Elections in the John H. Mulroy Civic Center – 15th Floor, 421 Montgomery Street, Syracuse, NY 13202


ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Registered voters who will be outside of Onondaga County and those who are physically unable to appear at the polls on Election Day are eligible to vote by Absentee Ballot.  Anyone intending to vote by Absentee Ballot must submit a request for an Absentee Ballot within the specified timeframe prior to the election (click here for deadline information).

  • An absentee ballot may also be requested by letter to the Board of Elections within 30 days of the election.  The letter should provide the address where you are registered, the address where the ballot should be sent, the reason for the request, the signature of the voter
